Credit Card Payments

When you configure donation, event, and membership forms to include credit card payments, you select whether to use Blackbaud Checkout or the standard checkout to collect card information. Regardless of the option you choose, the form securely processes credit card details and supports reCAPTCHA.

• To accept payments from credit cards and payment method solutions, such as Apple Pay, Click to Pay, Venmo and PayPal use Blackbaud Checkout. For more information, see Payment Methods.

  Note: If your organization accepts credit card payments from European card issuers, use Blackbaud Checkout to comply with the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) regulation. For more information, see the SCA FAQs.

  Tip: To process payments with Blackbaud Checkout, you must embed the Online Express code snippet for the form on a page that includes a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate.

• If your organization only requires basic credit card options, use the standard option.
