SAML 2.0 or Google Workflow for Google SSO?
If your organization uses Google as its identity provider (IdP), you can set up a SAML 2.0 or Google Workspace connection to enable single sign-on (SSO) for Blackbaud ID. For most scenarios, we recommend a Google Workspace connection. This is especially useful if you have multiple Google accounts — such as for personal and business use — or if you share browsers or devices with other people with Google accounts because Google Workspace enables users to easily choose which account to sign in with.
If you already set up a SAML 2.0 connection for SSO through Google, you can convert to a Google Workspace connection.
-
To help prevent inadvertent lockout while you convert your SSO connection, set up a maintenance window at your organization.
-
In Admin, select Authentication settings.
-
To disconnect your SAML 2.0 connection, select Learn about disconnecting SSO under Single sign-on, and then select Yes, disconnect... and Disconnect.
Note: When you disconnect your connection, your users receive an email to reset their passwords to ensure they meet the requirements of Blackbaud's authentication service. For more information, see Single Sign-on Connection.
-
To completely erase your SSO settings, select Erase all single sign-on settings under Single sign-on, and then select Erase SSO settings.
Note: When you erase your SSO settings, you retain any verified email domains. For more information, see Single Sign-on Setup.
Tip: To remove the SAML Google app from your users' Google apps, sign in your Google Workspace admin console with an administrator account, and, in App Settings, delete the SAML app.
-
To set up your Google Workspace connection, select Manage SSO settings under Single sign-on, and then select Google Workspace. For more information, see Google Workspace Setup.
