Payment Terminal Devices

Blackbaud offers pre-certified payment terminal devices for approved applications to fit your organization’s needs.

MobilePay Terminal enables your organization to process payments on the go. The solution supports several payment terminal devices — each of which is EMV-certified, uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect, and supports chip and contactless payments.

  • M2™ (US only) — A small, robust card reader that accepts chip, contactless, and swipe card payments.

    The M2 terminal with options to tap or insert a card.

  • WisePad™ 3 (Canada only) — A handheld reader that features a color LCD display and PIN pad, and accepts chip and contactless payments.

  • BBPOS Chipper™ 2X BT (US only) — A handheld mobile reader that supports chip, contactless, and swipe card payments.

    Note: While MobilePay Terminal still supports the BBPOS Chipper, you can no longer purchase it from Blackbaud. US customers who need mobile card readers should order new M2 payment terminals instead.

Payment Terminal helps protect your constituents and your organization from costly credit card fraud with EMV-certified card readers that offer End-to-end Encryption (E2EE). It is currently only available for use in Altru.

The solution is compatible with the BBPOS WisePOS™ E — an EMV-certified, handheld battery-powered payment terminal that supports chip or swipe card payments and contactless, close-proximity transactions.

From Terminal devices, you can order new payment terminals and accessories, register payment terminals, view an order's details and status, and print receipts.

Tip: Don't see this option? Contact your system admin for rights to manage orders and devices.

Note: You must purchase your payment terminals through Blackbaud. Devices ordered elsewhere are not supported.

Note: Devices and accessories may ship separately.

  1. From Terminal devices, select Order terminals.

  2. Select Order terminals.

  3. Review product details and enter quantities for each item.

  4. Select Start order, then enter shipping and contact info. If necessary, update item details.

  5. Select Review order.

  6. To complete the order, you must accept the billing agreement. After you agree, select Finish order.

After you place an order, you can review details from the order list.

Tip: Only Altru organizations who use the WisePOS E must register their devices. You don't need to register MobilePay Terminal devices.

  1. From Terminal devices, select Register terminals.

  2. Select Register a terminal.

  3. Select your device, then follow the onscreen prompts to complete registration.

Note: The WisePOS E requires additional setup. For more information, see BBPOS WisePOS™ E Setup and Altru Help.

After you register your terminals, you can view each device's information in the list. If necessary, from the device's menu , you can rename or remove it.

From an order's record, you can view details such as its order number, status, item totals, and shipping info. You can also print a receipt.

  1. From the order list, select the menu of the order to view.

  2. Select Details and review info as necessary.

    • To print a receipt, select Print receipt.

    • To quickly navigate between orders, select the up or down arrow.

  3. When finished, select Close to return to the list.

To print a PDF receipt for an order, from the order list, select the order's menu then select Print receipt.

The receipt contains details such as the order number, status, item totals, and shipping info. It also contains a copy of the billing agreement.
