Conduct for Faculty

Faculty members can record and track behavioral infractions, which are tied to consequences such as detentions or verbal warnings.

While in the Faculty persona, you can record infractions from multiple locations:

  1. From My Day: Schedule & Performance, review the Conduct tile which can be found on the right hand side. Depending on the number of tiles on this homepage, you may need to scroll down to find it.

  2. On the Roster of your class or team page, select View profile under a student's name and select Conduct from the student's profile menu.

  3. From the Directory, pull up the student's Contact Card and select Conduct.

  1. Select + Report an Infraction.

  2. Enter the following:

    Note: Fields with asterisks are required.

    • The date and time the Infraction occurred on.

    • The Student(s) involved. Start typing a student's name and search results will appear.

  3. Choose the appropriate Infraction from the dropdown menu.

  4. If your school uses conduct points, enter them under Points. For more information about setting up a point system, see Conduct.

  5. Enter a Description. This will be visible to the students involved and their parents.

    • Select the available placeholders to use them in the description, especially if multiple students were involved.

    • These will populate automatically with the student's information when the infraction is saved.

  6. Add any Confidential Comments or internal notes to be considered. Placeholders can be used here as well.

  7. Include where the infraction took place under Location.

  8. Select Save as draft or Send.

    • Infractions saved as a draft will not be published to anyone other than the author, and can be edited later. To edit a draft, either go to the Conduct section of a student's profile or return to the Conduct tile in Faculty view and select the number beside Infractions reported by me today.

Note: Once an infraction is saved or sent for approval, it can only be edited by a conduct manager.

Faculty members can view all infractions they have authored from My Day: Schedule & Performance by selecting the number of infractions on the Conduct tile.

If access has been granted, faculty members can review Conduct history from student profiles via Directories.

Tip: You can find instructions on how to set up and provide access to infractions in Conduct.

Available under Consequences on My Day > Schedule & Performance > Conduct, faculty can view upcoming consequences or ones in progress if they are assigned to them, and then manually toggle the consequence as complete, or tack on additional consequences due to the student not meeting penalization requirements by selecting Mark as No Show within the context menu.

Under Consequences:

  • Open consequences are compared against Total consequences. To be open, a consequence must not be complete, and therefore have a status of No Show or Pending.

  • Total consequences are a collection of all consequences that have occurred during the school year, regardless of status.

Consequences are displayed in order of most recent, but can be filtered using the drop-down above to refine results based on status.

The context menu allows you to change the status to closed via Complete consequence, or mark the consequence as a No show, allowing you to select between additional consequences that stand alone from the original.

When students do not appear for an issued consequence, such as ‘after school detention’, faculty can opt to mark the student as a ‘No Show’. This action allows the faculty create another consequence for the student that is labeled as No Show.

To get started, navigate to:

  • Faculty > My Day > Conduct > Assigned Consequences

  1. Select the context menu beside a consequence

  2. Select Mark as no show

  3. Select a consequence from the list.

    • The list is compiled from consequences that have already been established.

  4. Specify the date range to complete the consequence, leaving only one date if necessary.

  5. Optional: Specify the Hours assigned to determine the length of the consequence. The length should evenly span the duration split across the date range.

  6. Assign a faculty to oversee the completion of the consequence. Notifications are sent based on if Notify Staff is enabled for the selected consequence.

  7. Optional: Select Add Consequence if necessary, and repeat steps 3-6.

  8. Select Save

Managers will have the additional option to Set up a new consequence if the consequences available are not sufficient.
