Custom fields manager

The Custom fields manager is the tool used to create and modify custom fields, custom calculated fields, and URL links. To access Custom fields manager, select Control panel, Settings. On the Blueprint tile, select the menu , Custom fields.

Select a Record type from the left panel to see a list of existing custom fields for that specific Record type.

Note: There is a limit of 1,000 custom fields per record type.

To add a new Calculation field, on the Custom fields page, select Add new, Calculation.

Select a Record type, then enter a Field name and Standard label.

Select the Insert field link to display a list of all the current Currency, Date or, Number fields which are added to the formula.

Note: You need to add mathematical symbols ( +, -, *, / ) between field variables manually. SUM and AVG functions are permitted, but must be in all CAPS. SUM() or AVG().
Example: SUM(Field1, Field2, Field 3) or AVG(Field1, Field 2, Field 3)

Alternatively, you may use the Add operator instead of SUM.
Example: {Field_1}+{Field_2}+{Field_3}

On the Custom fields page, select Add new, Field.

Select a Record type, then enter a Field name and Standard label. Select a field Type, then enter a Maximum number of characters.

Note: Do not use Small, Medium, Large number types if the field is to be used for currency values as an error can occur if a currency symbol is entered.

Note: There is a limit of 1,000 custom fields per record type.

The column name cannot exceed 53 characters.

On the Custom fields page, select Add new, URL.

Select a Record type, then enter a Field name and Standard label.

Select the Insert field link to display a list of all fields for the selected Record type and enables you to add one or more to the URL.

Note: There is a limit of 1,000 custom fields per record type.

Select the menu next to the desired custom field, URL, or calculation, to edit or delete it.

Warning: Changing the data type of a field may cause loss of data if the data types are incompatible. Deleting a custom field removes the field and all of the historical data stored in the field from the system. This can't be undone.
