Set up your system

Get your system ready to show value to your donors, as well as customize different parts (text, logos, email addresses) according to your organization's needs.

  • A fund is an amount of money set aside for a particular purpose, such as an award, a specific program, or endowed chair

  • An award period groups impact statements for easier identification and export

  • A donor profile is a page providing additional information about your donors

  • A donor contact is someone—usually on behalf of the original donor—who receives updates related to a fund (fund performance, recipients, impact statements)

  • An impact statement is a collection of data points about an recipient—often related to the original awarding criteria

  • A recipient is someone benefiting from a donation (e.g., student, client, etc.)

Tasks

  1. Create and manage funds: Set up funds to link donor contacts with related recipients, fund snapshots, impact statements, and bulletins

  2. Set up award periods (optional): Create award periods for easier identification and export of impact statements

  3. Set up donor profiles (optional): Create profiles to highlight donor accomplishments and provide information for recipient thank-you letters

  4. Donor contacts: Create accounts so you can prepare donor reports and (if desired) give contacts access to their donor portal

  5. Adjust custom text (optional): Update instructional text and labels for various parts of your system

  6. Customize site content: Update site URL, site title, email addresses, and more

  7. Set up branding: Customize site logos, email headers and footers, colors, and more

  8. Set up communication templates (optional): Update wording and other details for system communications

  9. Set up stewardship fields: Choose which information you want visible to donor contacts and other administrators

  10. Fund and contact imports (optional): Add new data to your stewardship import files
