Notifications

Notifications keep you informed of activity within your Blackbaud Merchant Services account — such as for specific types of transactions, disbursements, or account configuration changes. From Control panel, Settings, you can subscribe to notifications to receive email messages when activities occur.

  • Account management — Receive notifications when a user changes account settings such as disbursement information, contact details, or users and roles.

  • Chargebacks — Receive notifications when you have new chargebacks to review. Chargebacks occur when an account holder disputes the validity of a credit card transaction and the credit card company issues a chargeback request to Blackbaud Merchant Services. For more information, see Chargebacks.

Tip: To receive notifications when open or disputed chargeback requests are closed, select "As it happens" for Chargebacks.

  • Credit Card Updater — Receive notifications when your account receives updated card number or expiration date info in your Blackbaud solution. For more information, see Credit Card Updater.

  • Direct debit declines — Receive notifications when direct debit transactions are declined for reasons such as insufficient funds, a closed account, or incorrect account information.

  • Direct debit returns — Receive notifications for direct debit transactions that were approved but then returned by the bank — such as when an account holder disputes the transaction.

  • Disbursement reports — Receive notifications when new disbursement reports are available in the web portal. For more information, see Disbursement Reports.

  • Fraudulent transactions — Receive notifications when Blackbaud Merchant Services rejects transactions as fraudulent. For more information, see Fraud Management.

  • Large suspect transactions — Receive notifications for transactions that exceed $10,000. To help prevent fraudulent activity, Blackbaud Merchant Services automatically flags transactions of $10,000 to $50,000 as suspect, and declines transactions that exceed $50,000.

  • Mobile transactions — Receive notifications when transactions process through Blackbaud MobilePay Terminal™.

  • Online transactions — Receive notifications for card-not-present transactions, such as transactions processed through a donation form on your website.

  • Suspect transactions — Receive notifications when Blackbaud Merchant Services flags transactions as suspect, such as due to questionable IP addresses or multiple identical transactions from the same credit card within a short amount of time. For more information, see Suspect Transactions.
