Create and manage funds

A fund is an amount of money set aside for a particular purpose, such as an award, a specific program, or endowed chair.

Funds are the most important part of your system, linking donor contacts and donor profiles with recipients, fund snapshots, impact statements, and bulletins.

To manually add a new fund:

  1. Go to Stewardship, Funds, Funds & Opportunities.

  2. Select New Fund.

  3. Enter the Fund Code to use to track against your accounting system. If you want to include an additional fund code, enter it in Fund Auxiliary Code.

  4. Choose any Scopes or Donors associated with the fund.

  5. Select Create.

All fields on the fund can be updated — including imported fields and those manually added to individual funds.

  1. Go to Stewardship, Funds, All Funds.

  2. On a specific fund record, select View.

  3. Select Edit Fund.

  4. Modify fund information as necessary.

  5. Select Update Fund.

You can create or edit funds — including updating existing fund information — through an import file. For more information, see Fund and contact imports.

Since statements are related to specific awarding criteria, you may want to include different fields on different funds.

To update fields on one or more funds:

  1. Select Stewardship, Funds, All Funds.

  2. Select one or more funds.

  3. Select Act on Selected, Add Contact Visibility or Act on Selected, Remove Contact Visibility.

  4. Select the specific fields to add or remove as contact visible.

    Note: Though all potential fields appear in this list, only those included in the opportunity's questions will be added or removed from each fund.

  5. Select Update Contact Visibility.

To update fields on an individual fund, make your changes from the Statement Fields tab.
