Get Started with Blackbaud MobilePay Terminal™

With MobilePay Terminal, you can process payments safely and securely with only a few simple steps — even at an offsite event or away from the office. The list below details everything you need to get started.

Organization admins can create a Blackbaud Merchant Services account from the Admin section of Blackbaud's website — from Settings, select Add account, then follow the on-screen instructions. For more information, see Get Started with Blackbaud Merchant Services.

Note: Currently, MobilePay Terminal is only available for accounts that process in US or Canadian dollars.

MobilePay Terminal uses Blackbaud ID authentication. To sign in to the app, you must have a Blackbaud ID that is linked to your Blackbaud Merchant Services account.

Admins can add users from the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal under Control panel, Security. For more information, see Users.

To use the app, your Blackbaud ID must have certain MobilePay Terminal permissions.

To grant permissions, admins should assign roles to users from the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal, under Control panel, Security. For more information, see Security.

Note: Environment and solution admins automatically have MobilePay Terminal permissions.

Transaction permissions settings with options to allow the ability to add, refund, and view transactions.

MobilePay Terminal supports several payment terminal devices. Each device is EMV-certified, uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect, and supports chip and contactless payments. You must purchase your payment terminals through Blackbaud.

To order terminals, sign in to the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal and select Terminal devices, then Order terminals. For more information, see Order Terminals.

MobilePay Terminal is compatible with most Apple and Android devices. The app works with Android 7.0 and higher and the two most recent versions of iOS. Your device must have a wireless or data connection.

Blackbaud MobilePay Terminal is available to install from the App Store or Google Play.

Note: To send email acknowledgements from MobilePay Terminal, you must also configure email acknowledgement settings from the Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal. For more information, see Email Acknowledgement Settings.
